Kiva Update

Kiva is awesome, people are just lending non-stop. This was just scrolling across the top of the page “Impact This Week: 1 loan every 37 seconds.” Of the people that Cloudspace donated $25 towards their goal, its seems that about half of them have already reached their goal and Kiva has made their loan possible. We’ve made quite a few loans and are helping people in countries all over the world: hot peppers and dental equipment in Peru, computer equipment in Senegal, olives and herbs in Lebanon, fishing nets and a boat motor in Cambodia, transportation in Togo, musical instruments in Azerbaijan and even a pub in Rwanda.

Now we’ve started a lending team. You can join our lending team as well and then when you lend on Kiva, just select Team Cloudspace from your team pull down.

Lissy and I love Kiva. We started lending on the service just over a year ago. We have done 27 loans so far. Our son has even started helping choose who we are going to lend to each month — so cool.

I have now joined Cloudspace's team on Kiva and will give you guys credit for our future loans. Keep up the great work!

Wow, interesting post. Just researched the loan I made last week and learned that it was 100% raised today. I contributed when the loan was appx 75% raised last week. The specifics – $500 loan funded in 20 days by 17 lenders from all over the world. As you put it, “Kiva is awesome”!

Only wish Kiva would had sent me an email notification that one of the loans I'd made had been fully raised. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on the notification as it was fully raised officially today, but keeping me in the loop w/ these kind of results would definitely prompt me to loan more.

Time to go make a few more loans @ http://kiva.org

So it turns out that I had jumped the gun. I got a very detailed email just 4 hours after my previous comment.

Made another loan last night – http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&act…

In less than 7 days, both of the people I made loans to <http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&act… & http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&act…> reached their goals – so exciting! I gave to people that needed to make repairs to their homes – can't wait to see the pictures once they're done!
