Are you an entrepreneur looking for good ideas? Here’s some great ones from Fjord.

I know we’re already coming near the end of the first quarter of 2011, but I wanted to share some predictions for the upcoming year from Fjord, a design consultancy. From my experiences talking with startups over the past 3-5 months, I think they’re spot on with a number of these predictions. Check out their slide deck below, and leave your thoughts in the comments.

I think they’re really spot on with the gamification trend. I know a lot of people think gamification is about cute icons and points, but there’s something deeper. Companies like OneTrueFan are gamifying the whole web, and products like UserVoice’s new Full Service product incorporate game mechanics to make customer support better (Q: what’s the difference between game mechanics and analytics? A: “fun”)

Lean Deck Clinic: Get feedback from VCs

Coming up on November 11 is the next Lean Deck Clinic, where startups can go to help craft their pitches (and maybe make a few good contacts). Head on over to MogoTix to get registered — only $10 and definitely worth it. From the site:

Every startup has a story, though we as founders are not always the best storytellers. Perfecting your pitch, be it for investors, customers, or potential hires, is a critical skill that cannot be overlooked.

The Lean Deck Clinic is a workshop that will sit you down with both investors and fellow startup entrepreneurs to practice telling your story. You’ll get instantaneous, actionable guidance and advice on what you can improve.
